With the upcoming reset I am curious to know what players feel make their "breeding lines" their breeding lines. Is it because it's the horses they started with that no one else has used? Is it the work put into creating the pedigree? What makes someone claim lines as their own?
I've seen folks get pretty defensive over breeding lines and would like to know how players feel about when a line becomes their own.
Your thoughts please. -Blue.

Although I certainly wouldn't say I'm fiercly protective of my lines (my stallions have always stood at stud with no approval,) I do feel I have created, or at least recently began to create my own lines. For a start I have worked extremely hard to breed all k/k horses and have been very self-diciplined not to breed to those high 70%s with K or kbr On top of that I have tried specifically for rare colour versions in appys such as liver chestnut, and have succeeded (I got this beauty today) Last but not least, colour wise, a majority of my horses now either have f/f, F/f and/or Pa/pa, Pa/Pa! Don't believe me then look through them, there are more horses with those genes than without ;D I've also worked hard to keep my appies producing correct patterns (I don't breed to any paints or pintaloosas) and more recently I have started to build up a small collection of prefers turf appys Whilst keeping all of that in mind I have tried to gradually get stats up as well and breed in ancient lines.. Finally (although it's a bit too late now lol) my lines have started to take shape.. When someone buys one of my horses they are guarenteed to be able to breed rare colours and proper patterns quite easily from that horse.. They also know that its bloodlines and DNA have been carefully selected for various reasons and that no expenses were spared on the stud fee, if I felt that was the right stud! Eventually if I'd have carried on the way I am I feel I would have a whole ranch of decent statted properly pattern (lots of leopards) sorrel, bay, chestnut (including blonde), palomino, buckskin, black and seal brown based horses. With most being dark colour versions. I would also have several turf and cowsense appies. I also feel that since I've even started training & showing some of my mares now (started before the reset) I may have possibly crept onto the top breeders list at some point this year with any luck, especially since I have just started regularly getting horses from 70-74% But still, what would I have done once I'd achieved everything, and every horse I got fit my breeding program? I'm happy I've got this new huuuge challenge, and I will be even more proud of my sorrels and blondes and k/k's and leopards next time round ;D
